Personal Income Surges 2.6%, Crushing Expectations

 Personal income surged 2.6 percent in December, beating expectations of 0.8 percent growth.

Last month's number was revised up 1 percent.

Spending was up 0.2 percent, slightly below expectations of 0.3 percent growth.
